“The Addiction” (An Ode to Alcohol Abuse) – Part One

I sleep better when I drink
Sometimes, it’s too much for me to think
My mind cannot TRY to dream, when I am feeling LOW….
So, the simmering high keeps me fine, for a while.
My sorrows are washed away
Into the ecstasy of that numbness, running through my veins.
Pleasure hitting me.
My fears are swallowed by the bottle,
Pain got easier to handle as I chugged that Henny and Moscato-
I sleep better when I drink,
Sometimes, it’s too much for me to think,
And my mind CANNOT dream
When I am feeling low.
So I just decided, for a little while, to go on, go along, all alone, and LET GO….
I know,
it’s wrong…
